Participant Information

| What: | A slow pitch softball game, lasting 75 minutes, using either an 11 or 12” softball. |
| Who: | Any team, an existing team or one put together for this event. The team can be men’s, women’s, youth or co-ed. |
| Where: | Northwest Diamonds, Decatur. |
| When: | August 9, 2008 9:00a.m. Rain date Aug. 10 |
| Time: | Will depend upon number of teams and fields available. |
| Why: | To raise funds to help children and adults with disabilities served by Easter Seals Central Illinois. |
| How: | Pay $50.00 to register your team to play and challenge another team. Team members collect pledge money from friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. |
| Prize: | The team that raises the most funds for Easter Seals Central Illinois receives….A party from Starship Billiards which includes two free hours of free billiards, 12 soft drinks and two four corner appetizers.(additional food and beverage may be purchased) |
| Information about Miranda Jess: | |
| This is the inaugural year of the Miranda Jess Memorial Softball Challenge to benefit Easter Seals. Miranda, daughter of Susan and Randy Jess and sister to Melanie, attended St. Teresa and Stephen Decatur High Schools and had been an avid basketball and softball player, a good student, and a dear friend to many. She died in February 2000 at the age of 17. | ![]() |
